整个市场占地70多 亩，配套用地60多亩，现有建筑面积12万平方米，设有营业房4,000余间。主要经营轻纺类产品，包括服装、鞋帽、布料、布艺、箱包及家具等十几个大 类、数万种商品，市场内共有2,000余家经营单位。市场人气旺盛，周边地区有几十万户居民住宅群。市场日客流量最多达到五万人次的时候，就像节假日时的 上海南京路一样拥挤。
上海轻纺市场内批发量最大的当数布艺类，且汇聚的知名品牌也最多。但其他如服装、箱包、鞋类、床上用品等，这几年通过引进知名品牌、大厂商，商品的档次也得到不断提升。目前，整个市场以中档产品为主。而中高档产品，中低档的产品价格，应该说是该市场的优势。
