大夹街服装批发市场雄居华中、北与六渡桥商业中心相连，西与闻名全国的“天下第一街”汉正街相连，东与大兴路鞋城、万商百马服装城相邻，南与长江汉水交汇，是武汉市及华中地区最大的服装集散地。它抛弃从往市场建设“店中店”模式，采用商铺临街的设计，复式四层框架结构，独立楼梯，首层为商铺，二至四层为商住，较好地满足了每位商家的经营习惯，整个市场内街与街之间辟有4.5米宽的通道，贯通大夹街和民族路，组成快捷的交通网络。
大夹街服装批发市场一、二、三期共投资5亿元，总占地面积4.3万平方米，总建筑面积15.1万平方米，拥有营业面积近6万平方米。它们分别于1998年、2000年、2002年建成投入经营，现拥有经营门点800多个，入驻来自全国各地的厂商，市场以批发中档品牌女装为主，商品不仅品种繁多，款式新颖，几乎涵盖所有服装品种和系列，并且货源充足，质量过硬，现已拥有一定的商户群体和社会知名度。
