商城创建于1995年。经多次尝试经营调整后，1999年5月，商城转变经营模式，开办了百货零售批发市场。历经七年持续、稳定、快速的发展，如今已建设成为一座拥有员工700余人，占地6270平方米，集商场、写字楼、餐饮、娱乐、休闲、健身于一体的综合性、现代化商业大厦，并以其特有的经营品质、优异的服务质量、齐全的商品种类而享誉冰城。
大世界商城商贾云集，百业俱兴。一至七楼为百货市场， 建筑面积32700平方米，内设柜台1000余节，精品屋近200间，经营范围包括日用百货、文教办公、音像制品、通讯器材、针织布艺、钟表首饰、五金家电等几十个类别，数十万种商品。另外尚有品牌服装展示中心、马华国际健身俱乐部、大世界休闲服饰城、二手手机市场、申格体育用品公司、沸点眼镜超市、图书超市等二十几家实力雄厚的企业在店内经营，另有国税所、地税所、工商所在五楼现场办公。商场现平均日客流量高达上万人次，营业额在百万以上。八至二十七层为写字楼，内设高级办公室200多间，有包括空调制冷设备公司、房地产经营公司、广告公司、美容中心、律师事务所等在内的上百家公司在此办公。
